Here are five tips to remove coffee stains from a silk dress.
1. Hydrogen Peroxide And Detergent Powder Solution
Make a solution of hydrogen peroxide and detergent powder. You can use dishwashing soap or liquid detergent as well on the place of detergent powder. Wet a sponge in the solution and then rub the stain with it. To prevent the stain from spreading, make sure you rub on the stained area only. Plus, wash the sponge before wetting it with the solution.
2. Distilled White Vinegar And Water Solution
Take distilled white vinegar and water in equal quantities in a mug and then mix them well. Take a white rag and keep that on the stain first. Now, apply the solution to the stain from above the rag. Don’t over-saturate the stained area so that stain can spread. Blot the stain several times with different rags.
3. Steaming
Steaming can be an excellent idea to remove the coffee stain. First, sprinkle cornstarch on the stained area and then put a white rag on it. Now, apply iron on the dress. The stain will stick with the white rag leaving the dress.
4. Oxygen-based Laundry Detergent
Oxygen-based laundry detergent can be quite effective in dealing with the coffee stain. Take water in a mug and then add the detergent to it. Shake the water well so that the detergent dissolves in the water. Now, you should soak your silk dress in the detergent for some time. Now, you should remove the dress and clean it with fresh water and then with your detergent. Dry the dress with the help of air and not with the sunshine.
5. Silk Cleaning Products
Buy a cleaning product that can clean and remove stain from your silk dress. These products have clear cleaning instructions. Following those instructions will allow you to remove the stain.
Using these points, you can remove the coffee stain from your silk dress. However, it would be better if you take help of a professional cleaner for the job.
