Washing clothes seems an easy task to most. Simply switching on the machine, allow it to fill with water, add detergent powder/liquid then add dirty laundry. The machine takes it from there. Washing clothes need as much attention as other things. There are many mistakes people make while cleaning their clothes that cost them more. In this blog, we are going to tell you about five common mistakes that most people make while doing laundry.
Using Too Much Detergent Powder
This is perhaps the most common laundry problem. Most people believe the more detergent they use, the better cleaning their clothes will get. So, they pour detergent with love. But, this is not more than a myth. This will not benefit you at all. Your detergent powder will finish faster and you will have to use more water to remove the detergent completely from the fabric. So,use the detergent as per the instructions given on the pack.
Rubbing Stains Harshly
Most people when attempting to remove stains take it on full force by vigorously rubbing the stains. Sometimes, stains don’t go but the fabric suffers. Therefore, you should focus on the right products to remove the stains instead of applying your man power to the stain. The stain will gently go if you use the right stain removing product and method.
Ignoring the Label on the Fabric
Every garment manufacturing company adds tags to their products informing customers of how the product should be cleaned. Whether it can be machine washed at home or needs to be dry cleaned. Washing a dress that was intended to be dry cleaned might damage the fabric. We therefore suggest that you first check the tag and decide accordingly for cleaning.
Washing Shirts with All Buttons Up
You should unbutton the buttons of your shirts before washing your shirts. If the buttons are up, then the buttons can stress while cleaning which might cause the buttons to break.
Washing Dresses without Zipping Up
You should zip up a dress properly before washing it. If you don’t while washing the zipper can latch onto other articles of clothing and cause a tear. They also can scratch the interior surface of your machine.
