We recommend you do a colour test before washing your new dress/shirt/pant/skirt if you have any doubt that the colour may run and stain any other article of clothing it comes in contact with. How can you perform the colour test on your dress? This is simple, dampen with water a small part of your dress and then blot it with a small piece of white cloth. See, if the colour of that dress comes on the white cloth piece. If the dress fails in the colour test, then don’t wash it with other dresses.

Don’t Apply Detergent Powder Directly on Your Dresses

You should not apply the detergent powder directly on the clothes you are going to wash. Instead, place the clothes in the machine, then pour water and lastly your detergent powder. If you are going to bleach your dresses, then first pour bleach, then water, then clothes, and finally the detergent powder.

You Close Zippers Before Washing

You should close the zips before putting a dress/pant/skirt into the machine. You should button the pants as well. This will protect your machine as well as your clothing from damage. Many times open zips and open buttons of the create problem.

Don’t Rub the Stains

Most people consider rubbing or scrubbing to be the best option to eliminate the stains, but it is not. Scrubbing the stains causes it to spread. Instead, gently dab the stains from the outside in. It would be better to contact a dry cleaner to get rid of the stains.

Don’t Wash the Dresses Made for Dry Cleaning

Many people don’t look at the tag attached to their dresses to know if the dress is for hand wash, machine wash, or dry cleaning. You should see the tag first before washing any article of clothing. If a dress is to be dry-cleaned, we suggest you have the dress dry cleaned or at least hand washed and hung to dry.
